Photographer

His pictures are part of history. Yours can be too!

Can you help us with our 50th Anniversary Photographic Project, recording today's Tonbridge for the benefit of the future people of Tonbridge?

Background

Tonbridge Historical Society holds an extensive archive of historic images of the town, but we are concerned about the lack of new material entering the Pictorial Record. The Society's committee has agreed that a new Photographic Project makes a fitting venture for our 50th anniversary year. The aim is to involve as many people as possible by inviting them to submit their own photographs for our permanent archive.

What to do

Please send us one or more photographs (prints or digital) taking in 2009-10 and relating to some aspect of Tonbridge — places, events,  people working and at play ... . Please add any helpful information so that full credit can be given. Where possible this should include the date taken, the location, name of photographer, the event and the names of people, etc.

How to submit

We prefer to receive prints, approx. 5" by 7" (13 by 18 cm). These can be brought to any meeting of the Historical Society, or posted to: THS Photo Project, 8 Woodview Crescent, Hildenborough, TONBRIDGE, TN11 9HD.

Alternatively you can send digital images, either on discs brought to one of the Society's meetings or sent to the address above, or as attachments to an e-mail obtained by clicking .

Please note that photographs donated will become part of the permanent THS Pictorial Record Collection and the copyright will be held by the Society unless otherwise requested.

Closing date

15th April 2010. It is hoped that we can display these photographs during the Society's 50th year starting in the autumn of 2010.

Further information is available from Pat Hopcroft, Pictorial Records Group Leader, at any of the Society's meetings, or by e-mail by clicking .
